Q
What is ClocDot?
ClocDot is a cloud attendance system designed for remote and hybrid teams. GPS tells automatically whether someone is at the office or working remotely, leave balances are calculated for you, and month-end hours export to CSV in one click.
Q
Is GPS clock-in accurate? Does it support multiple office locations?
ClocDot uses the device's GPS position and geocodes your office addresses automatically. You can set up as many sites as you need, and each punch is tagged as Office or Remote for you.
Q
How much does ClocDot cost?
Teams of 5 or fewer are free forever, no credit card required. Apply now and your first 6 months are free.
Q
Can we export an hours report for accounting?
Yes. Export a CSV in one click at month end. The daily breakdown includes the Office/Remote tag and the actual hours worked with lunch breaks already deducted, and it opens cleanly in Excel.
Q
How are annual leave and other leave balances calculated?
ClocDot accrues annual leave pro rata from each employee's hire date and grants the full entitlement once they pass one year. Set the leave types up once and they apply automatically — no manual monthly reconciliation.
Q
Does ClocDot handle shift scheduling, rotating shifts and overnight shifts?
Yes. ClocDot has shift definitions and a month calendar you paint schedules onto. A shift carries its start and end time, break minutes and overnight handling (an end time earlier than the start is treated as crossing midnight), and rotating cycles of two weeks or more take a Week A start date. Days you do not schedule fall back to the default shift. If a schedule looks like it breaches labor regulations, ClocDot warns you before saving.
Q
Can leave and overtime be approved online? Does every manager see every request?
Yes. Corrections, leave and overtime are all filed online and routed up the org chart step by step, so each manager only sees the requests that have reached them. Departments, job titles and admin permissions are configured separately, so a manager can approve their own team's requests without being given admin access.
Q
How are overtime hours calculated? Does it warn about going over the cap?
Overtime hours are derived automatically from the punch record — the employee just confirms and sends, and can claim fewer hours than calculated but never more. Weekdays, rest days, public holidays and mandatory days off are distinguished and charged at their own rates, and when the month approaches or exceeds the cap a warning appears both when filing and when approving.
Q
Can ClocDot run payroll? How far does it go?
It settles through to net pay. A payroll run totals base salary, hourly pay, allowances and tiered overtime (x1.34, x1.67 and x2.67) into gross pay, then deducts lateness, early leave and absence, unpaid leave, labor insurance, health insurance, voluntary pension contributions and income tax. A settled run can be locked, unlocked and recalculated, and adjusted with manual line items. Employees see their own monthly payslip in their account.
Q
Do we have to use GPS? Can we verify against the office WiFi instead?
Yes. Turn on WiFi clock-in in company settings and punches on office days only count from the company network. The source IP is verified server-side, so employees have nothing to configure. The allow list takes multiple IPs and CIDR ranges, you can add your current IP in one click, and every punch stores the IP it came from.
Q
What happens when someone forgets to clock in?
They file a punch correction from the app: the time the punch should have been and the reason, sent to their manager for approval. Once approved the record is restored — no chat messages or paper forms involved.
